Question Who makes this part for the F-body? I've only seen it for the Vette's.

I need this part RIGH HERE The stock one on my Z had a hole in it. The prev. owner used Nitrous and stuck the jet in there. I've coved the hole, but would like to replace the part.

Custom C5 Air Coupler Replace your 1997-2001 Corvette's stock rubber accordion coupler, which rests between the throttle body and intake duct, with our custom silicone Air Coupler. Its smooth surface allows air to flow much smoother, producing less turbulence, yielding 3-5 more horsepower! Requires only minutes to install.
I'd like to think I'm gaining more HP, but I want something that will work, and looks better. I'm trying to find one that will fit my Z in red, but I haven't had any luck yet.

I found this one at Mid America Designs.com. They seem to be on the pricy side, but then again, so is everything for a vette.

thank you.
Milo

I also found the part at:
Breathless Performance.com - but not in red, and I still don't know if it will fit.

Yup ... or do the infamouts "Fernco Mod" -- $5 at Home Depot or Lowes.

The SLP part looks better, IMO, but the Fernco mod is cheaper.

Exclamation

The Fernco is the cheapest way to go.
There is also a single rib style just like the SLP type that goes for $12, now if I could only remember who it is that carries it.
A search on LS1.com would pull it up, that's where I saw it.

Or you could get the "Camaro Hose" from http://www.bakerprecision.com/ You can get it in red if you want. $30 You need to call them to order it, it's not on their web site. You have to do a little bit a of trimming to get it fit but nothing major. I have a blue one. Pic below.

The only problem with the Fernco 4x3 (no rib) version is the tendency to crack lids due to no flexibility. I tried it for a week and got rid of it. It also made my lid and MAF sit slightly higher, causing it to bang againt the SS scoop (I think this latter item depends on how you hood sits, as fitment varies between cars).

Ratio411, if you can find the single rib at a plumbing store for $12 let me know!!

I've had a Fernco 3"x3" on my car for 3 years... with none of your issues.
I posted the link for you... $12.80 for a single rib.
The Fernco 3.5"x3" is also an option, but is an odd size and hard to find.

YOU ARE THE MAN!

I just ordered 3 of them. One for me and 2 more because someone with WTFBA will see mine and want one.

One of the guys with WTFBA had one of these that someone gave him, but he never did find out where it came from. Now we know!

Thanks again!

Thanks Dave. Glad you haven't had any problems - I think it varies from car to car.

Dave ... That's the wrong one!

I just received the 3 that I ordered and they are the wrong size. The 3.5 inch fits over the MAF without any problem, but the 4" end it frikkin' HUGE. It is WAY too big for the throttle body.

I measured my TB ... it is 3 15/16, but the outer lip makes up 1/16, so the TB itself is only 3 7/8. This hose is actually about 4 1/16 inner diameter, making about a 3/16" gap to fill.

I did manage to fit the 3.5" end to the throttle body with only a minimal amount of work. I didn't even have to heat it up. This hose stretches very easily. I worked the hose for about 5 seconds and slid it over the TB.

So, I just called AirFlow Systems and am returning the 4" - 3.5" reducer hump hose and am ordering the 3.5" - 3.5" hump hose.

Unhappy

Sorry about that! Glad you let us know... That is the one that they themselves recommend, right at the bottom of the pic in the link it says it is for Camaro/Firebird. I did think the measurements weren't quite right, but I thought maybe they measured it differently.
Sorry again, glad they are doing a swap.

I was unfortunate enough to use that link and buy the bellow without paying much attention. And of course it didnt fit the TB. Oh well, at least it was only like 20 bucks after shipping.
