Strut Tower Bar

i think i am going to get a strut tower bar the one that is in the engine bay. how much are these usually and who makes them what companies are out there and where are the cheapest places to get one?? does it help with the handling a lot or some?? i think they look nice an dhave always heard it stabilizes the engine bay quite a bit! thats good because if it is not too much i might invest in one!! i have seen you guys have them but never did know how much! thanks and also how hard is it to install one? do you just have to remove those 3 bolts on each side, put the strut bar in, then titghten the bolts back to hold the strut bar down?? is it easy?? thanks!

BMR at Bmrfabrication.com. Good quality and the cheapest I've found. As long as it took you to type your post you could have had your bar installed. Easy. Comes with instructions.

i second the BMR stuff
they are $90 i think ad you have a choice of colors

there isn't a huge increase in structural ridgidity, but it surely can't hurt

and yeah it does look nice

I had a 3 point LG engine bay brace in my '94 z28 for about 8 years and swithched to BMR about 8 months ago. The LG unit is a b**ch to install and I wanted the cleaner look of the BMR unit (had it chromed!!). With T-tops I believe it makes a difference; nothing scientific, just common sense. It would seem that any mod to improve power transfer to the ground in beneficial, IMO. Hope this helps!

They do jack squat ( i have one, dont jump to conclusions). Do a search over in advanced tech under my user name for an interesting discussion.

Mine did do jack squat. I felt a difference between having one and not. Only discussion I need is how it feels to me. My perception at least.
Where to get BMR's? = bmrfabrication.com = $90.

Yeah tell me about it. I had a hard enough time taking it off during the header install.

My prefrence is the hotchkis. Since it is so easy to take off if you need it out of the way.

Can't say that I felt any difference in handling. When I first put the 3 point LG unit on, I did not change the front sway bar. Now I have an LG swaybar in place. I would have serious doubts that the engine bay brace would effect handling.
