how hard is n2o on the stock rearend
Depends if you are running slicks or not. If you launch on the nitrous with a six speed the days are limited. I had an Auto launching on a 100 shot.It held up but I had traction problems. 60ft was a 1.89. I used the TA-Girdle and stud kit to make it last.
Now I have a 9 inch.Cant wait to leave on trans brake.

150 shot, your rears days are numbered, plan on a 9" or a 12 bolt.
its a stronger rear end, if you count the lug bolts on your stock rear there are 10 a 12 bolt has twelve. The gears are bigger and hold more power heres an article about the two http://www.carcraft.com/techarticles/1038/index.html
The only downfal of these rear ends are the price, look to pay at least 2000 bucks for a complete asembly

a 9 inch is a ford rearend and will hold just about whatever you can throw at it
the 12 bolt vs 9 inch is a toss up.....9 bolt will hold a tad more power..but the 12 bolt cost less money

I use a 150 wet shot in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th gear at the track. I have Nitto Drags on the 10 bolt with 4.11 gears.
I think that if I ever sprayed in 1st gear with slicks, the ring gear would snap the instant the clutch engaged.
Besides I am having a hard time hooking up with drag radials and 4.11 gears just with the power the motor is making NA.

Rears usually last awhile with A4's because of less drivetrain shock. I'm still running a 10-bolt in my car.
