LSs1Power 07-20-2003, 02:06 AM Today i finaly got into the 12's. The Spec Stage 3 paid off. My fastest time before today with the same mods running RACE PIPES and stock clutch was 13.09 at 110 and one run i reached 111mph(Slipping stock clutch at 70F degree). Anyways today my slowest run was 12.918 at 111.06 mph. and my fastest run was 12.764 at 111.98!! The track is 320ft above sea level and it was 96 F. And i was running the CATS, not the race pipes. For sure im going to try to run again with the race pipes before i put my Cam in because im sure 112-113mph will be possible.
I had a big problem trying to drop my 60ft. My best 60ft was 2.092 and most of the other 60ft's are 2.1sec. I know that my car is setup for road course and it is very stiff, but i feel that i can get a 1.9 60ft with my suspension and tire setup. I dont know what to do here?
Anyways Im very happy now :D . I cant wait to try my car again without the CATs and see how fast i can go.
AL SS590 M6 07-20-2003, 03:22 AM Hey great runs:) Especially in the heat.
Feels good to finally meet a goal doesn't it?
As far as traction goes. As long as you are going to stay with the road race suspension there isn't much else that can be done. Maybe unhook your front swaybar at the track.
But I don't see LCA relocator brackets in your mods list. If you don't have them, get some put on as they can help a lot.

I do have the LCA brakets and they are set at the maximum traction(lowest hole). My goal is a daily driver(full weight) 11sec car :D . How much is the cam and race pipes going to help me in ur opinion? Do u think i should be trapping close to 117-118mph?
SwingDriverZ28 07-20-2003, 05:39 PM I am planning on doing basically my whole suspension. I was wondering how your car feel and handles? Rough or smooth... basically anything you can tell me about how the car changed.
I am planning on getting this package....
http://www.dynamicmotorsports.com/DMS%20Suspention%20Package.htm
I am new to suspension stuff but I was wondering if you could give me as much info as possible so I know how the car will change. plus/minus'
BTW....AWESOME times.... your goals are basically mine.(except i will be happy with low 12s, well probably not!:p )

I saw the link u listed, Awsome prices, but i never anyone used their suspension package on a road course. I would still go with LG parts though. They are known to be the best people in business for suspension parts.
The ride of my car is a little bit stiff, nothing major though. I drive it everyday. On the road course, the car handles very good. I stick it to S2000's, turbocharged Miata's, Porsche's C2 C4, M3's, and C5's on the turns and pull on them on the straights. The car is almost neutral, a mild understeer at low speeds, nothing u cant fix with a little bit of gas. U can get a slight power slide(oversteer) if u want. I love the suspension on the road course.
The only down side i found is that its not a good setup for drag racing, but it will still do fine. 2.0-2.1 is not that bad after all. I ran 11 times when i got the 12.7 as a best and all of them were the same numbers(I'm consistent, so its not me), but i couldnt break under 2.0 60ft no matter what i did. The max RPM i can use to launch the car perfectly without a wheel spin is 3.5K rpm which is low. That explains why i cant get under 2.0 60ft's because the suspension is stiff and i get a wheel spin while im running nittos 315's with 18psi in them. And i did do a burn out before every run. Oh and i tried 15psi and the car still spun at 3.5K RPM. So if u are looking for a drag setup this is not it, but if u want a suspension that will make u run and beat road course cars and still do good in drag racing this is ur setup.
NOTE: I have the Eibach Prokit springs. They handle good, but the car doesnt loook right. The ride highet from the back looks awsome, but it looks like a jeep from the front and they arent level too. I have the front right side higher than the front left side. I checked the springs seating and that wasnt the issue. So just be careful and make sure Eibach will cover ur springs if they turned out to be bad.
Sorry for the long write up and good luck.
96LT14u2Nv 07-21-2003, 10:57 PM awesome man! congrats
redsscamaroboy 07-23-2003, 12:02 PM Good job breaking into the 12's ,feels good huh.
Now time for some more power and look to the 11's,just kidding nice times and great mph, gotta love that mph.:thumb:
Dave
Instead of suspension, I would just go for some ET Streets. That will get your sixty foot time down and not screw up your road racing fun. ;)

Im coming after the 11's ;) . Im sure the cam will put me in the mid to low 12's. Then the Procharger D-1SC 8psi will do the job in getting me my 11's :D .

I was thinking about the same thing, but with a trapspeed of 124mph or so and 2.160ft i will still be in the 11's with street tires right?
There is a good chance of it.
redsscamaroboy 07-23-2003, 10:31 PM Come on into the land of 11 second f body's,it nice in here, lol.
I am on my way to the 10's with a stock motor ,trans and gear.
Gotta love the A4 for being nice to mister 10 bolt.
Looking for 11's all motor and 10's on the bottle, but still get my 24 mpg on the highway.
Long tubes going on tomorrow along with a 4in exhaust.
I will never do any mods to ruin the autocross setup i have now for a better 1/4 mile time.
Good luck with the Procharger,I have always wanted that setup too.

What do u run now off the bottle?
redsscamaroboy 07-23-2003, 11:06 PM I spun my way to a 12.82 @ 107 with 1.84 60ft.
Now i have E/T streets and should be able to pull 1.6 short times and get around 110 mph with my new exhaust setup.
Right now i am in the middle of installing BMR lower control arm relocation brackets too.
Dave
redsscamaroboy 07-23-2003, 11:11 PM I really think you can run 11's on street tires with the Procharger installed.
For example i ran a best of 11.98@116 with a 1.72 60ft on stock Goodyear Eagle F1's with a 100 shot.
I think your mph is going to be much higher than that, but the A4 with a convertor is much easier to hook than a M6 with lots of boost.
Good luck.

I hope so too. If i got my car to run mid 11's at 125mph with the cam and Procharger i would be satisfied. My final final goal is to have a daily driver that traps 130mph+ :D .
By the way do u think i should be trapping close to 118mph with the cam im going to install?
redsscamaroboy 07-23-2003, 11:36 PM I think that 118 is a possibility but if you pull the heavy ZR1 wheels and go for light weight drag rims and skinnies it is almost a given that you could cover 118 mph.
I am looking for 120 mph plus and 10 second time slips.
And still be able to drive anywhere and autocross too.
The rollcage is coming very soon, maybe this winter????
How long before the Procharger gets under that hood?

Two months max. I want to install my Cam first and enjoy it a little bit before i get the D-1SC. As u see the Cam is for FI or NOS. Im expecting close to 400rwhp with this cam.
redsscamaroboy 07-23-2003, 11:44 PM With a decen tune i think 390 rwhp is very do-able with that cam.
I really would like to do just the LS6 cam and pushrods and Ls6 intake, but keep the stock heads. That should sound stock and give a nice little 30 rwhp boost and maybe more on the spray.
Keep me posted on the dyno results with that cam and good luck on the quest for 130 plus trap speeds.

I have a new LS6 Cam, LS6 Springs and a timing chain. I bought them then changed my mind that im going with a larger cam. Tell me if u are intrested.
redsscamaroboy 07-23-2003, 11:53 PM I might be interested in those pieces. How much do you need for them?
I have never priced the timing chain set up. I know i can get the cam for 185 also never checked the springs price either.
Shoot me a P.M. or an email if you'd like.
