I have a stock 97 trans am WS6.It has those oval tailpipes i have tried using S.O.S. pads etc nothing seems to work!
Can these be polished or have any of you tried a parts cleaner?

polishing them can be done but it's not that easy to do. They're a cast aluminum I believe and typically corrode very fast. The only way I can see getting a good finish would be to remove them, and starting snading them until they were smooth then take them to a buffing wheel.

I did that same procedure on the W68 tips on my old V6 bird. Came out great. Very hard to keep clean though.
