That pretty much sums up my problem. I ported my MAF and I don't like it. I seem to have lost power. Where can I get another stock one? I hope they dont' cost alot. Thanks for you help.

Just post in the For sale forum stating you WTB unported MAF ends.
A while back I think they were up for around $40.
I have no clue why you would lose HP, I like the whisper MAF ends I have.

The only way you'll know for sure that you lost horsepower would be to dyno back-to-back with a stock unit and your ported unit. Here's why, I felt my car was losing power after adding SLP's AIT sensor. I dyno'd it on Tuesday and it actually gave me 4rwhp and 4rwtq. Without it I wouldn't have hit the 300rwhp mark!

If you're dead set on dumping your ported unit though, there are plenty of people who'll sell you their stock one in the For Sale Forum.

Heh maybe I could find someone that would trade my ported one for their stock one. I mean I did a good job. Cut, sanded, and sanded some more. It just seems like I lost too much low end power and gained some high end. I just miss the faster 60 second times.

On a side note my dynomax muffler gets here today and I can install the dynomouth! http://web.camaross.com/bb/smile.gif

A set of ported MAF ends will add timing and lean the car out some. This could easily lead to detonation problems if you did not have an overly-rich car before the swap and/or you don't have enough octane to support the added timing. I picked up 2 degrees of timing at WOT with a set of ported MAF ends, but I dynoed exactly the same. It was because with the added timing I was also getting added knock retard. They cancelled each other out, and I gained nothing. FYI, ported ends aren't recommended for auto-equipped cars. They will reduce the transmission line pressure, causing pre-mature wear of the internal clutches. This is because the MAF sensor is one of the parameters the PCM looks at to determine trans. line pressure at WOT. Just thought I'd throw that in for all of the A4 guys.

Post in the For Sale forum. That's what I did and bought a guy's OEM set for $40 (screen included)

When I did my port/polish, I didn't want to be stuck with it, so I bought an OEM set from a guy and ported mine.

My new car doesn't like the port/polish as well as my old one did, so I had to put the OEM back on. Glad I spent $40 for an extra set of ends.
