I just finished heads and cam install, I now have a 230/236 112, ported heads, 1 5/8 shorty headers, 373's and some bolt ons. The car still has the stock program and run's not to bad, it idle's between 800-850 but is very rough. I'll be going to the dyno in a few days and will be using tunercat which I know very little about. I do not want to spend a lot of time on the dyno untill I have a better idea of what I'm do, but I need to fix my idle and AFR ASAP. What should I be looking for or changing to get the most power and driveability with out spending a lot of time on the dyno? Once I understand what I'm doing I will go back and look for more power but for now I would be happy with driveability.
Thanks Shayne

If the dyno place has an A/F ratio guage, use it. That will tell you more than any thing else. I think 12.5 is just about perfect, but I could be wrong. Once you get it done, if you get graphs and can send them to me, I'll take a look at them. Rember while you are up there dont make drastic changes, just 2% at the most per run.

In order to tune correctly, you need a diagnostic tool such as Datamaster to determine what is going on.
This will tell you how you look non-WOT and that is most critical right now before you go to the dyno.

95 Blackhawk is right.
You must have a datalogger to do this and do it correctly.
Then you really need to do a little idle work and then part throttle work...before you do any wot tuning. I can't tell you how much easier you will make this on yourself if you do.
If you choose to do your wot tuning first, you may find that you'll have to do it all over again after doing your idle and part throttle stuff.

Thanks guys, what datalogger works the best, is there some different ones to pick from?

I've only used Datamaster, so that's all I could recommend.
Works great, I can see all the data I want, and I haven't had any problems at all with it.

I thought you only needed a 133 and 16 megs of ram to run tuner cat. My laptop has 16megs but when I go to install the program it said I do not meet the minumim requrmint of ram to run this program. What can I do to make this work? I priced out ram for it and because it is at least 5 yeard old it was going to be close to $100, the laptop is not worth that much.
