Just bought my 94 z28

I just bought my 94 z28 with 120k mile on it. The car feels strong i tourched my cousins 97 328i (Dinan intake) but i was wondering how much of a power loss does 120k take away? The car has been in the shop for some tranny work so i havent been able to really get some numbers on it. But i was just wondering what to expect?

Depends on how hard it's been run over the years and how well it's been taken care of. First thing to do is give it a complete tune up including a new OptiSpark if it hasn't been changed in the last 30-40K miles.

If it has been maintained properly it should run pretty much the way it did when new.

Optispark and waterpump while you are at it. The car is 9 years old and like any older vehicle you need to examine little things carefully. Also, check the "feel" if the windows and door switches, they are a common wear item. Note whether or not the passenger side window is slower than the drivers side.

Overall these are well built vehicles. When it is up on a lift check the u-joints (heck, probably just relace them as they are cheap from NAPA and see if there is any slop in the rear end. Check the grounds and the coil. the coil is easy to get to and they tend to only last about 60,000 under normal driving conditions. If you get new plug wires and plugs, make sure they include a coil wire (many sets don't include it).
