Whats the most power anyone's gotten with an unopened LS1?

Just curious of what the LS1 is capable of with completely stock internals, as in stock bottom end, stock valvetrain, etc. I'm doing a comparison of some different engines.

you need to be a little more specific.are you talking NA or power adder?

Engines handle varying degrees of power for varying amounts of time.

I'm sure that there's been an accident somewhere..a boost spike, or the wrong nitrous pills..where someone has pulled WAY more out of a stock LS1 block than it could reasonably tolerate for any extended period of time.

Who knows what that figure is...700 hp?

Many people run blowers and end up with fried blocks after only a few months. I remember reading of a guy that was running 550 rwhp with stock internals on an aggressively tuned ATI setup. That thing lost a cylinder after a few months. On the other hand, there are some pushing ~500 rwhp with blower setups somewhat reliably on the stock internals. And then there's nitrous...many people get 500+ rwhp every time they spray. But how often do people spray?

So, what's your question? ...capable of reliably? ...capable of at times? What's the most ever? Be specific.

www.ls1tech.com is a good site for finding better information about this.

Lets go with boosted engines, no nitrous.

Lets say semi-reliable, as in you could drive it for at least 6 months without blowing it up.

ls1 tech is a good reference point.ill give you some things im aware of.last i knew the fastest NA bolt on ls1 went 11.2.its an a4.a list of the fastest bolton cars is also at ls1 tech.

some people know of harlan.its been awhile since ive been to his site be he dynoed at 584 rwhp with stock internals running a incon TT.this was at 12 psi with 100 octans fuel.keep in mind he drove this car for 40k like this and the motor help up fairly well.

I only have a few mods (in my sig) and I have a good amount of rear wheel power.
