Synthetic oil bad for new engine?

I put Mobil 1 Synthetic in my car around 3000k, and the other day my friend said your not supposed to use Synthetic for the first 15,000, that you're supposed to let the engine break in with normal oil first. but that doesn't sound right to me... how could synthetic possibly be bad at any time?

Some people feel that the rings get a better seating with conventional oil but that theory is more less unproven. Have your friend explain to you why the C5's have Mobil 1 as the factory fill oil when it leaves the production plant.

Synthetics work fine in our engines at any time.

I agree with Rocky, plus EVERYONE I talked to said "JUST DO IT"!! I put Mobil 1 in mine at about 2850 miles, she's running sweet and not burning a drop.
