Alternator won't charge

My car is an 88 camaro, with a carbureted 350 and a th-350 trans in it. I have the fuel pump hooked to a switch, so that I could remove the computer and ECU harness. So I removed everything and now my alternator doesn't work. I did find that the white wire coming from the alternator plug went to the computer, but when I unplugged the computer it worked fine. Why doesn't the alternator charge now? What does that white wire do? Is there anyway to hook it up so it does work? Any help is appreciated.

I'm not 100% sure but I think that might be the load wire. Basically it tells the alternator how much charge to give the batterie. Yuo probaly could get away with just putting power directly to it but I'm not sure if that will damage the batterie at all.

I would check your vehicles wiring diagram first.

Ok, I'll try that out. And don't worry, you won't be held accountable;)
