Polk GXR subs any good?

The Circuit City by me has a 12 inch polk GXR series sub on sale for $50 and its another $30 for the box its in. Thinkin about it, but is it a good deal? Should I saave up the money and buy something nicer? I dont need a lot of bass, just enough to take over what the regular speakers cant do.

I used a GRX in a home subwoofer. It hits good in either movies or music. I suppose it will work alright in a car.
