Photoshop/Graphics/Logo Guys - HELP

Hey guys we are working on getting the stickers ready for the club, however the picture we have now is not in the best resolution to be made into a 2"X2" sticker, can anyone tweak the file below so that it can be printed as a 2"X2" sticker without being distorted, you will also have to add some small text to the bottom that says www.bctfb.com.

ok well i do use photoshop as a living and u all do realize that this is a rectangle and ur putting it into a small square it really doesn't matter what u do its going to be distorted if u want the max space.

i vote that we make the sticker a simple 2x4 so we can get a proper rectangle to fit and have readable text on the bottom.

I dunno where you got that logo from... but its basically the F-Body.org logo, and your looking to get in some serious legal issues if anyone brings up trademark licenses and such...

but I do love it :)

The logo was made by Ken from our club, (IrocZ383). I don't think there will be any issue with trademark licenses??? Someone please correct me if I am wrong.

his dads company tried making it the size it should be and it was just bad so the resolution needs to be alot better

I don't think there will be a copy right problem... most copy rights have a 10% limitation. That means 10% of the logo has to be diferant to pass under copyright laws.

I'll ask our patent trade marks lawyers and see what they say...

I don't think there is going to be a problem with the logo considering I made that logo from scratch back in Feb. of 2000. :D

hey JD I'll see what I can do with the logo, I still have all the original pics on my computer. :)

Ahhh, good good... the 10% should be fine then...

If you look at www.f-body.org you'll see how close it is to theres... and a few years ago GM threatened lawsuits and such against them and some others, but they were allowed to retain owership of that logo... as it encorperates the Chev and Pontiac sytles...

I agree tho, a perfect square it should not be...

I don't mind if it is bigger, just need someone to come up with a nice picture that can be used for prinitng, let's say at max 4X2, but if it can be done smaller than i perfer that. Now let's see some photshop skills ;)

The best way to do it is to make the image big! As big as possible. Then when you shrink it to it to the 2x4 the resolution will be really high.

Hey Rich! Don't steal all the credit!! We bot worked on it a lot! You just had more time than I did to find parts of it. ;)

ill remake the bc-tfb logo larger, from scratch, and see what happens :)

I was just thinking about the legal stuff and chances are that f-body.org doesn't have a patent on the logo because of the cost.:D

JD, I made three different sizes (2x2, 2x3, 2,4) as well as cleaned up the image. If you want me to change anything about them, i.e. font, size, color. just let me know.

thats better :D but... Keep in mind we changed a lot of the colours! Such as the bird and the silver trim and got rid of the chev logo and inserted the BCTFB. Oh and not to mention the flags!!! Put ssssoooo much work into them and they still don't look as three demensional as I would like it.

If only I had more time to play around with it... :(

I'm sure Talos will be able to wake it up really nice too though!!!

yup its coming along quite nicely... doing it most by hand, like the bird im painting it by hand so thats what im workin on right now...

ya i think the 2x3 and 2x4 are the best, 2x3 the best so far... 2x2 just has to much negitive space "white stuff"

Hey Talos nice work do you use a tablet?
My brother Has a large tablet but I still havent tried to use it.

The 2x3 is the best to use because it has the least negitive space. It is hard to tell on the internat because of the white background but the 2x2, and the 2x4 don't fit right. If you d/l them you can see what i mean :)

yes i use a 12x14 wacom tablet. hard to do alot of this stuff with a mouse, or just takes a long time

I thought so, my brother has a 9x12 wacom tablet, he got it on an end of lease buyout for like $70 :D. he likes it but i havent got around to tring it.

hey sorry to barge in here so late ... but .. is there a way to write BC TEAM FBODY on the left or bottom of the logo somewhere

1) the letters BCTFB dont make any sense to anyone other than ourselves

2) the font thats used for the BC-TFB inside the logo isnt very eye catching ... im sure its easy to try a few different fonts on that one as well :)

fit "british columbia team fbody" in 1 line under the logo
and add the www.bctfb.com in the same pt and font underneath the name "british columbina ..."

all the fonts and pts look good to me

how is the sticker background going to look like ?

are we gonna have a white / clear / black background !?
how would this affect the visibility of the sticker on tinted glass / radiator shroud or other place where people will be putting the sticker ?!

well considering the text is black, a white background would be our best bet... since clear background looks awesome on windows but with tint, once again the text will not show up....

hmm this is a hard choice.

a white background on tinted window will look like AZZ :no:

what if we print the sticker on a clear background .. and nathan can put a white outline to the text and logo so that they will be seen properly ..

try to redo that sticker with a black background (printed on clear paper and applied to tinted glass)

ok well we can do a couple of things.

1. print it the way it is, black text white background

2. black text with a white pinstripe outline w/ black background

3. black text with a white pinstripe outline w/ transparent background

4. white text with a transparent background

I think I know what Payams talking about , halo the whole thing in a 360 drop shadow deal so it looks like it glows . Instead of having a plane white line its fuzzy / fades out but just a bit , not too fat . :)

Nice logo. It'll look great next to all the other vinyl decals I ordered from the batman at the batcave. :cool: I hope everyone will mount it on there back bumper. :D

now you can run it on any background with out it mattering if u put it on tint/clear, or engine bay, or w/e u want to do

Correct me if iam wrong, but if you print it on a clear background wont the printer not print the white parts causing the flags to be all black on tinted windows?
so you would have to print the logo on white backgrounds and cut out the logo in order to look right.

not if u put a transparent matte behind the logo and give the flags and what not a small white pinstripe.

so basicly it will print the white, except for what i want to by clear. hence the transparent matte, or alpha channel.

one last thing :) can u put this on a black background so we can see how it'll look like once its printed on transparent paper and applied to tinted glass

but this is a question to who ever is going to take the file to get printed, i need to know what type of file format and does it have to have the transparent alpha channel or what.

what if u were to play with the color of the glow for the text !?
right now its a milky white .. doesnt really match the rest of the logo

try the red / white / blue that are in the logo (pony car flag) for the text glow .. u can even use all 3 colors (but it might look bad) in the same fasion as the flag is through the text .. :think:

might as well give that a try to before we print

ps. any chance on earth we can get these stickers done for saturday !? :alert:

To Streamline Z28, yes I have decals on my new firehawk. First of all they come with decals. I bought a few from the batcave. LS1 5.7 decal on back bumper and side panel. Slp chrome badge on the back bumper too. Last of the breed badges on front panel too. You should check them out before you flame me. :irk: This is the way you treat me after I pm'd you to offer to Claybar your car cause you asked for help on-line. You didn't even return my message. :rolleyes: :shame:

I personally like the white better. It matches the white in the flags and it will make the letters more legible on a black background.
Remember the corner of the back window is actually black. It is not transparent..

well im thinking the best way to go with this is to take "orders" on what ppl want and then make them on what ppl want, supply and demend.
