TMDZ28 07-07-2003, 09:11 PM just wanna make sure they open when i need to, i have window switch and wot switch. they both open last time i check, just a little paranoid right now. anybody knows how to check it, i have a window switch, now i dont know how to check it?? thanks
dude, just put them across your battery, and listen for a click. BEWARE though, they draw mega amps and it could possibly KILL you if you touch the terminals..................

does that mean i have to disconnect the cable again?? :(
stik6shift93 07-07-2003, 10:25 PM Was that meant to be a joke? There's not enough voltage from the battery to push current through you, you won't get killed by touching them, you probably won't even be able to notice it. Anyway I read your other post, I barely noticed my 75 shot(though my bottle pressure was way down). If you want to check it i'd pull the fogger out of the elbow or wherever you have it mounted turn the key in the on position(but don't start it) activate the nitrous and put the pedal to the floor. If it doesn't spray(both nitrous and fuel)then I'd check your wot switch and make sure it's properly adjusted, if not then I'd check the noids and wiring. Oh by the way I'd obviously spray into some sort of bottle like a pop bottle or somethin unless you want fuel all over your car:D

but i have a window switch though. even my girlfriend said that my car is not getting any faster. i'm not fast but furious right now
no, it's not a joke. it's not voltage that can kill you, it's current.
solenoid draws like 40 amps or something ridiculously high..............
run a wire from both terminals.. and touch it with your tounge.. :)
better yet, use 0 guage wire, do that and tell me how you can't feel it :p

40 amps? wow... and yet the run just fine off of 30 amp relays... Last I checked the only draw about 8-10 amps each

yep, i said something HIGH, i can't remember everything, wise guy :p
BTW, 500ma thru your heart will stop it, and 70ma will cause muscle paralysis.............
LPEdave 07-08-2003, 12:15 PM I have my solenoids wired with spade connectors, so I can disconnect them from the rest of the wiring, and as mentioned touch the ends to the battery. Easy enough to do, just listen for the clicking.

What about 1300ma from a 9 volt battery on your tongue? :p j/k

better yet, use 0 guage wire, do that and tell me how you can't feel it :p I know that it is current that kills you, however your body has enough resistance to prevent the current from being pushed threw(at least at low voltages like 12). Look at it this way, your battery has over 600 amps, touch the terminals and see what happens. The reason you can feel it when you touch your tongue to it is because water lowers your resistance, get out of the shower and go to touch your battery terminals, you'd be able to feel it and get a nice shock. However under normal conditions 12 volts isn't enough to push the current threw your body cause it has enough resistance. Simply put the battery could have 10million amps and it still wouldn't matter unless there was enough voltage to pust it through the resistance of your body.

true, but the fact remains under circumstances the battery and the 10amps the noid is pullin CAN KILL YOU under the right conditions. THats why in all service manuals they have warnings. 10 amps is already in the wire for the noid and is flowing because of the low resistance of the noid, if somehow u got in that path that 10 amps is not safe for that brief ms or less u contact the 10amps. THe 10amps will drop when your body gets into the path becuase u are adding resistance, but like i said that brief initial contact is the danger.
