'Ghetto' Nitrous Install...?

Awhile back someone posted a thread about the neon someone rented and then they put a nitrous kit in by injecting the nitrous directly into the air intake hose. Would this be a stupid way to do it if it was a small shot? Like a sneeky pete(which is for carbs, and we want to do it to a FI car)...


Or is there some other sort of universal or 'ghetto-rigged' way to install nitrous without it being severely detrimental to the cars health??
