Monday afternoon my Vortech should be arriving via UPS. Car should have 360-385 at the rear wheels with this tune. What does this mean you might ask? Well now Ill see you guys at the nationals, and I might not have to be slowest car there!

Well my car is basically stock. Im going to have to run the stock 3.27 gear and street tires until I can afford to get my rear axle tubes welded and the torque boxes toughened up a bit. My cars a convertible to boot so Im paranoid Im going to bend it. For about 700 bucks more I could have gotten the novi blower but they said a stock 4.6 wont take 30 PSI of boost... lol

None the less, I wont have to duck down under the door when I pull up next to a Camaro anymore...

Cobras will see nothing but my tail lights now... They arent that impressive.. Getting blown away buy a GT Convertible should really make them mad :D

Thanks, It was a hard choice.. Buy 95ish LT1 Camaro and start over, or go 12s now with blower. Like a month ago there was a really nice blue 95 with no T-Tops down the street from me for sale and they sold it before I had all the money banked.. Im still hoping that when the C6 comes out, the Stang will be paid for and the C5s will be a bit more affordable. Im still a Chevy guy trapped in a Ford employees body! :cool:

Friend of mine had Paul (http://www.paulshp.com/) bolt a Vortech up on his 00 GT, along with some other stuff...He puts 365hp down but I've heard stories of that dyno being a little optimistic, especially considering what 8lbs of boost can do to a motor that only put out 225 whp stock...Must be magic I guess

Those modular SOHC motors like boost more than LT1s do thats for sure.

yeah the 99+ cars make 300-350rwhp on average depending on mods.. ive seen some higher.. but the track times do not reflect the dyno #'s very cool either way.. hopefulyl ill run into you on the street and we'll see what shes got :)

Well the kit I have is a little different then what all these other places offer. Ive got the kit through Steeda and it uses their custom ECU program. When you buy the kit through them, you get the blower, all the parts for it, Mass air meter, Injectors, Plugs, Custom fuel pump mod and some other stuff. Steeda claims that there ECU program makes 40 more hp then any other kit on the market for mustangs.. I Made my decision to buy it based on about 20 other people on stangnet raving about this kit. And its 10-14 pounds of boost depending on the other mods I get... Im at 12psi right now.

Once the stangs paid off Im going to try to find myself a nice C5 corvette.

You should easily have that thing in the 11's before it's paid before. Congrats.

Yeah thats pretty wild isnt it? Although its gonna be really close to the limit. The shop I got the blower through says that a stock short block will hold up to 450hp.. after that your pushing it. The 4.6 is a great engine since they got the head flaws fixed, but the rods are junk. The quote I heard on stangnet was "after 450hp, the 4.6L's powdered iron rods turn back into powder". I think the next thing I will be saving for is the cooler for it.

Heres kind of a funny story about being a Ford employee/Chevy Fan. At Ford we have a club called FME for the employees. Its a Ford Employee Car club, not A Ford club. But whats funny, if you go to the Milan meets on thursday for the club, all the salaried people have new mustangs and cobras. MOST of the hourly guys have old Chevys. Ive seen some beautiful cars out there, including a SKylark that was running low 10s on motor.

Just got the car running, It runs good. Kevin can give you his thoughts about it, he was the first person to go for a ride. I would like to note that the oil lines supplied by Vortech are JUNK!

My buddy has an 01 Cobra that has a vortech supercharger on it. I've thought about a vortech for my car, but there isn't a whole lot of room in that already-cramped engine bay.

i am planning on going on saturday with the wife and possibly a few other friends.

Car pulls strong.....too much to test on the street with
street tires. Dale's excessive exhaust certainly hides most
of the s/c whine. He's gonna surprise people on the street.
Someone borrow this boy some drag radials/nitto's
for a track test.

Congrats on your new mod.I also go AC/DC when it comes to Mustangs and Camaros.Both of mine are convertibles.I am doing more now to my Mustang than the Camaro cause I don't want to put a cage in the Camaro.But the Mustang I will if need be.I took it up to Stanton tonigt for TNT.I ran a 13.88 with it.It is a new PB for me.I hav'nt even cracked open the bottle yet! Tonight was the first time I have ran it with the five speed.Still getting used to it.Taner makes it looks so easy.I will have to get some tips from him.My friend called me tonight and told me a friend of his at work has a S.C. for a 5.0 for sale cheap so I will be looking into that.Once again congrats and enjoy it.

Thanks, Ive put quite a few miles on it already and I love it. The car is just amazing fast now.. I cant believe how much the blower brought it to life. Not bad for only 281 cubes! I have to get it to the track now, I drove all the way to milan last night and the track was closed because of that stupid race this weekend. Looks like Ill be going to stanton or somplace else this weekend to test it.

I live about 45 min away from stanton.They have test and tune friday from 7pm to midnight. I might be interested in going up there again if the weather is nice.Anybody else wanna go???

Id love to race on a real track but Ill have to take a rain check on it this weekend. Im going to milan tomorrow for the Motor city nationals, and ill be there most of the day. Maybe next friday Ill be able to talk Kevin into taking his car out there and well both come out.

Go this Wednesday to Milan. They have test/tune and a few of my friends and myself are going to be up there hopefully. We'll have video rolling too so you can shut up all the naysayers ;). Sounds like one hell of a ride. I am cool w/ anyone who mods their cars to make them faster whether it be chevy, ford, or even honda :eek: . Keep up the good work!

I might go out there on wednsday, depends on the weather and how antsy I am to get on the track. I was really bummed I couldnt run this past week a couple times. Thursday is the Ford club meet so Ill definetly be there for that.
