I have to press my brake pedal almost all the way to the floor to stop my car so today I checked to see the condition of my brake pads. The outside pad (pad towards the open air) seemed to be very thin but the inside pad (pad closest to the inside wheel well) still seemed to have a good amount of meat on it. Are the pads supposed to wear like this or is something wrong with my brakes?

Lots of times the outer pads will wear a little more than the inside ones, however, since you have to press your brake pedal to the floor to stop the car, I would suggest that you have a problem. Check your fluid level, then make sure you bleed any air out of the system. As for your pads, make sure the calipers are not seized on the sliders.

What does "seized on the sliders" mean and how do I fix that?
