Do police really look down on N2O?

If in theory it is only used at the track, would they really hassle us with N2O? I'd like to think they would say to go after those Hondas with American Muscle.... Just my thoughts. I'd like to mount it were the rear seat is but not if there is a guaranteed hassle.

a friend of mine got a ticket for having nitrous line connected to the bottle. he has to take everything off, and show it to the court. if you plan on cruising, i suggest to disconnect your bottle. if you wanna race, may God be with you.:D :D :D :p

The only State that it's illegal is in Georgia. That's a hard question cause it all depends on the cop that day. My bottle is mounted in the hatch back area in plain view. I had a motorcycle cop roll right next to my door and look in my car still on his bike and said nice looking car and didnt mess with me at all  Now you can run into that cop that will fine every little thing wrong with the car. The only way I can say if you don't want to be mess with, is hide the system in the spare tire area. Out of sight out of mine.

Yes, I agree... they are looking mostly for imports. I really want the dual tank mount which really looks cool. But to avoid those anal police officers, I will likely hide it in the trunk with only a single tank. Too bad...

I like that idea so there is no words said between the police and you to mess around with you. So Hawk is this like hard to get and expensive to get your hands on?

No cost for the Nitrous permit in NJ. Fill out the form and send it to the NJ Dept. of Health and Senior Services. Get the permit back in a week. You do need to indicate the location where you plan to buy nitrous, and can fill out multiple sources and get multiple permits. Each permit is a "duplicate" with one copy for you and one for the place you buy. Permit is good for 2 years.

Cool part is, next to "INTENDED USE:" it say "Race Car/Vehicle".

I'm also surprised that there is a problem with nitrous in CA. When I lived there (94/95), I had the NOS 5176-EO, which comes with a CARB certification sticker to attach to the car.

I have my bottle in the spare tire compartment with a remote bottle opener.
Even if they were to pop the hood I doubt they could tell I have nitrous. :D

Go ahead, i bet there is someone else that is trying that right now, lol. However, if u want a REAL permit go to any speed shop that sells nitrous and ask for the application, they should have them in the store or tell you who to call to get it. Enjoy.

I have mine in my spare tire compartment as well and I have the line run under the carpet so the only way you can see it is if you pop the hood. I am saving up for the remote bottle opener and bottle warmer. :D

actually, in Georgia you just can't have the bottle hooked up. I went through a roadblock one night and a state trooper told me this. He said it's a power adder and could result in a ticket. I said well people have supercharger's and they can still have the belt on the blower. He couldn't come up with a logical explanation for that one.

In New York, I believe the cops will usually leave you alone, so long as the bottle valve is closed and the bottle is PROPERLY secured in the vehicle (as in no hiding it on the back seat under your jacket... :D

mine's in the spare tire well....
