Went to cecil today, pulled about 50 more lbs outta the car,and ran the 175 jets.

First pass,in the heat but low humidity was a 11.02@124,7.06@98,1.62 60'
Not bad for a STOCK longblock LT1 and a 175 hit in 95° temps.

Later in the night i went a 11.09@122 with about 85-90% humidity, and another 11.02@122 at the end of the night. I couldnt bring myself to run the 200 shot just yet, cooler weather and the car will go 10's as is

Awesome!

What fuel pump? And have you ever scanned a run to see if you're getting any knock?

I'm looking to do the same thing, but I'm still getting knock even with stock timing. I'm going to try new plugs and/or wires soon.

walbro 255 in tank. I have a LOT of false knock from the exhuast hitting the floor,so my knock sensor is locked down to pull 2° max.
I read plugs more then i rely on a knock sensor, you get a better idea of what is really happening.

I also pull 3° through my MSD,and run VP C10 unleaded.

yes completely stock internals, including cam/heads/tbody/etc. It does have 1.6 rockers.
63K miles. Safety stuff? other then guages, reading plugs, and good fuel and the pump,i have nothing else. Never liked using it,havent had anything but problems with FPSS's (thats just me).

Where did you get your Walbro in tank fuel pump, and how much did you pay for it?

RacinLT1
07-06-2003, 05:33 PM
i got it 2 years ago from an old vendor from here (honestly dont remember thier name, but they were booted from the board for bad business deals). paid something like $109-119

Guess I better up grade the pump before I try the 150 shot. Was it a pain in the a$$ to install?

not really,we just cut a hole in the floor and changed it that way. also had to modify/lose the fuel bucket.

There is a thread in LT1 tech about cutting the access hole,do a search and it'll come up.

those times are amazing.
How long have you been spraying on the stock bottom end?
Do you have any idea what your AF ratio is? When do you hit the nitrous?

Thanks

VERY IMPRESSIVE!

Now here is a guy that optimized the potential of a nitrous kit!

Stock engine and what not and the car is nocking on running in the 10's. WOW!

Those of you out there running stock engines with nitrous should be begging RacingLT1 for his tuneup/setup.

How many of you guy's can say you made your stock LT1 that normally runs either 14's to high 13's drop down to run low 11's? I would guess not to many of ya.

Great Job!

Jim

never checked air fuel, dont have a wideband, and stockers arent worth crap.

Been spraying it for just under 2 years now.

I used to use a progressive to get if off the line,it doesnt seem to like that anymore. I have beter luck using a 2/10's of a second delay (that's 2/10's after WOT) and hitting it with all 175.

Jwinn, the car normally runs 12.5's or so in the heat, but im still amazed it's going as fast as it is.

Do you know what your car weighs?
What have you done to reduce weight?

Thanks

last time i wieghed it was 3590 with me in it. Since then i have pulled the bumper supports, which are around 50lbs.
Car has no ac/ps,lightweight carpet, chrome moly rollbar,Summit race buckets. The links in my sig have most of the info, but arent updated yet.

RacinLT1, do you have an AFPR? and if you do, what do you have it set at? thanks, Greg

Sorry to bother ya, but what kind of timing are you having pulled out? Greg

RacinLT1
07-06-2003, 09:42 PM
Greg, I am running the stock regulator,so stock fuel pressure is where i'm at. Im also pulling 4° of timing, with C10 fuel and NGK tr6's. Cars runs a lil fat n/a so i dont pull a LOT of timing.

Damn, you sure have it put together, those are some sick times.
I checked out your site, our cars are very similar with mods and NA times. My 12.39 was done last fall, DA was around -600 ft...very nice weather to run in...lol
Last week when I tried the juice, the DA was +2900 ft...so i'm sure with some good weather, the 75 shot should put me in the 11.80's i would hope. I can't imagine what the 150 must feel like:eek: Greg

believe it or not,i was jaded with the 150 hit.......(sad isnt it?).

The 175 was a whole new ballgame, man that car was flat hauling down the track.

do you think stock completely stock internal LT1 will hold 100 shots?? i'm gonna spray 75 wet shots today. this is the first time. kinda scared. as soon as i upgrade my fuel pump, i'm thinking to spray 100 shots. but i have 122K on the engine:cry:

my engine is completely stock internally. I had a 91 TA with a 305,145k miles, and sprayed 130 shot to that, nothing in the engine was touched.

just make sure the fuel and ignition systems are good, and use your head, you'll be ok.

RacinLT1, which nx jets are required for the 175 shot and the 200 shot?

GJE94Z28
07-08-2003, 10:14 PM
Hey Dirk, I was wondering what jet combo will work for 125HP. My NX list goes like this: 50, 75, 100, 150. Greg

RacinLT1
07-08-2003, 10:26 PM
Maximum, the chart i have shows 73N/38F for the 175,and 78N/46F for the 200.

Im running a 73/35 setup for MY car.

GJE,i dont have the normal NX chart,i pieced my kit together and got jets for 150/175/200,sorry.

I just got my NX jets today for my kit and I'll let you use the 136 nitrous jet to see what she'll do on the 400shot:D I bet we could have a 9 sec LT1 longblock lol. Congrats and I know that car will run a 10.7-10.8 in the fall with no problem.

I'm running the universal EFI kit by Nitrous Works and my sheet for the 125 shot is 59/Nitrous & 33/Fuel and my 150 shot is 70/Nitrous & 35/Fuel & the 175 shot is 76/Nitrous & 38/Fuel and these are the best tune ups that I have seen from Nitrous Works & the car runs GREAT!
