Well first make sure its lead free gas cause lead eats away at the mass air flow sensor. Secondly unless you have a fairly build motor like turbo, supercharger, juice, or a stroker kit your just wasting your money. My friend Tim has a 99 Z28 with a 360 built bottom end with cams and bolt ons and runs 11.5s and hes just using 93 octane.

we cant get 93 in LV.
and it does feel like there's a small gain in performance...with the 100.
im not sure xactly what detenation(sp) sounds like, but i think the SS was having some the other day with 91.
it really seems to run so much better on 100.

Whew! When I read the title I had to do a double take.I thought you were asking about mixed gas like a weedeater....only Honda Civics get that. http://web.camaross.com/bb/biggrin.gif

I mix Motorsport 103 unleaded with 94 pump gas to run 95.5 octane when I want to run my best times. Any higher octane and it slows me down.

The only thing Octane does is prevent pre-denotation. In other words, higher octane for higher compression engines.
I have run 93-100 and there is no real gain.

Actualy the higher octane will make your engine temp slightly higher. But oh that smell makes it worth it!
