I was wondering if anybody knows if it would be possible to get a 98+ Fbody to handle almost as good or even better than a Z06. Now of course their is the weight difference but what can you do about that, and the T-Tops that come on almost every friggin Z28. But I read in "Car and Driver" the Z06 pulled a 0.96 in the skidpad, could you forseable put those same parts or similar parts on a Fbody to make it handle just as well or is the suspension set up too different?

Its been said that with Bilstien shocks, eibach springs and some BFGoodrich G-Force T/A KDW(S) that the camaro will pull .9 or somewhere close to that, so my guess is that if you added all that with a strut tower brace, and sub-frame connectors you could probably achieve that

I believe the z06 has independent rear suspension, so it would be hard to match the feel of that. You could probably get it to pull .96g though.

It will take a WHOLE lot of things to get a fourth gen close to Corvette handling, and even then you'd probably be just close. That's what the car was designed around, to make it a street legal but race ready machine. They are perfectly balanced with their weight front to back (50/50), and they are made to haul @ss turning in any direction while doing it. The Camaro's however are built to burn the back rubber off and hang the @ss out while doing it. The ole live axel makes for some fun at the auto-x events!

How to make a Z28 handle like a Z06???
Basically: extend the wheelbase by 3", widen the stance by 2", lose an extra 300lbs, and replace the live-axle rear and less aggressive front suspension for a tuned, 4-wheel independent system. That should just about do it! http://web.camaross.com/bb/biggrin.gif
OR: buy a Z06!! http://web.camaross.com/bb/wink.gif
