There is a person here at my work who's husband wants to put a Vortec Supercharger on his LS1 T/A. I don't think this guy knows anything about engines besides that go vroom and take gas. BUT, she said he will install it himself with help from his friend.
Please tell me that to install a supercharger, you also need things such as pistons, crank, etc....
Right?
Thanks!

Personaly i would get a Ps1 procharger, it comes with an air/air intercooler they are self contained (don't have to tap into the oil pan) and they have a better output, that is unless you have the money to get the intercooler on the vortec. These kits run at 6 pounds of boost, and are made to run with stock internals. The only time you would need to get new pistons, cranks, rings, and so on is if you want to run more boost in which you used forged stuff to run a higher boost and lower compression pistons. The PS1 from procharger runs up to, i think, 12 pounds max , D1 up to ~20, and the F1 to ~30 pounds. LS1's run at a high compression so you run too much boost and bbbooommm. Usuualy cuases you to blow head gaskets if your lucky. If he runs a bolt on kit at 6 psi, the only thing he would realy need was fuel, and maybe a new ignition to get the full potential. More air and fuel and while your at it longtube headers and catback mean brighter spark. I have put a PS1 on an LT1 and we added a fuel plate in front of the throttle body that had 3 injectors, we then added a bigger fuel pump than stock, I can't remember the numbers, he already had an MSD.
Damn i wrote alot of junk, anyways for a 6 pound kit you don't need to go internal other than getting it more fuel.
