Im sorry guys i know this has probably been asked 100 times. I am planning on rmoving my cat tomorrow and want to know advantages and disadvantages of this. One guy in town said he would put a straight pipe there for 50 dollars. Second question how do you think it would sound with the CAT removed with exhaust cut-outs too. Will i loose to much back pressure if i do both. One guy quoted a V6 with cut-outs said it sounded like a elephant farting through a straw. LOL anyways thanks for the help

sounds decent....i replaced the cat with a pipe i bought from murrays and just put it on there with some clamps...sounds a little deeper actually....more throaty sound....i also have flowmaster mufflers though....noticed a little gain in top end....sotp dyno.....just run straight headers...sounds great...trust me i did it for a wk until i got the pipe situation figured out...just make sure u get some earplugs if u go that route

Its a matter of opinion really. Straight headers could cause some probelms. A removed cat running into a cat back sounds decent, but will still get raspy at higher rpms. A cut out on a V6 sounds like a chain saw on carck, in my opinion. Its a good way to burn up the valves too, putting it before the cat. I dont really like the sound of a cut out before the cat even on a 8 cyl. Cutouts should remain on cars with true duals and big blocks.
