"Melrose t-top" valve covers hit shaft rockers

I posted this to LT1 tech, but it went to page 2 pretty fast, so I'll try it here:

I ordered a pair of these: http://www.melroset-tops.com/Covers1color.jpg, but they do not clear the T&D shaft rockers. The valve cover ends are "pinched in" (for alternator clearance, I guess) too much. So I'm still hunting for a bolt-on cover to clear the shafties. Any and all leads cheerfully followed :D

<sigh>

It's not supposed to be this hard.

...... not to mention they weigh about 20 lbs. each !
Are you still running your alternator in the stock location ?
Canton or B&B (Stef's) both offer a tall polished aluminum centerbolt valve cover for less than $100, but neither has a notch for the alternator. I've notched them before, but I'm not sure if that'll work with the T&D's. The alternatives are a low mount alt., or switch to the smaller alternator used in pick-up's. Either way will eliminate the need to notch the covers.

The link doesn't work! :(

As for the smaller pick up alternator, what is the output?

I know this isn't a bolt-on solution, but, I got a pair of the moroso tall valve covers and took them to a local guy and had him put the one side more on an angle to clear the alternator.. Works great. I don't have T&D shaft rockers, but, there is a lot of room in there..
