a couple of questions if you guys don't mind!?!?!?

ok, wow I've been trying to do research on nitrous in various forums for weeks now, and I'am more confused than ever!!!!!

if you guys would answer these simple questions I would be extremely appreciative, I know these have probably been asked a million times.

I want to run about a 75 shot on my z28 (please look at sig to see mods) it's a A4, and I want all the safety equipment.

I was planning on a NX wet kit, but then read a forum about how wet is bad, and how most shops and people throw on wet kits and break stuff!

I do need a WOT switch and Window switch right?

what exactly does the WOT switch do?

what in the hell is FPPS??????

I need a bottle pressure gauge and a air/fuel ratio gauge?

Do i tune my car for N/A or for N20????

and a simple list of everything including safety stuff that I need would be GREATLY APPRECIATED.

I know this is a lot, but maybe you guys can clear up my confusion, Oh and please speak english (lamens terms) I'm still very new to this, and I don't want to blow up my car, it is my baby.

I think I can help.

1) Both a WOT and window switch are highly recommended, even on an A4. You don't want to be spraying much under 3000 RPM on a stock engine, and especially not at part-throttle. Stock stall converters probably don't flash over 3000, so if you hit WOT with an A4, you'll probbaly still see the nitrous hitting under 3000RPM, which isn't good.

2) A WOT switch only allows the nitrous system to engage when you have the pedal to the floor (WOT = wide open throttle). I.e., you don't want to be spraying at idle or part-throttle.

3) An FPSS is a "fuel pressure safety switch." It will disable the n2o system when fuel pressure goes below the set psi of the switch. This is so if your fuel pump goes out while you are spraying, you won't go super lean and melt a piston.

4) A bottle pressure gauge would be good, so you know when the bottle is close to empty, and whether it is at optimum psi for spraying. A/F isn't much help since the O2 sensors aren't very accurate beyond cruising AFRs.

5) Everything you listed is about all you need, safety-wise. You should also get a blowdown tube. This allows nitrous to vent outside the car it the bottle gets severely over pressurized, instead of making a cloud inside your car or rupturing the bottle (if you'd run w/o a blow-off valve, which you'd have to do on purpose, as all bottles come with them).

6) You tune your PCM for N/A. You can then "tune" the n2o system via the fuel jets and with an optional timing retard module.

I'd also suggest a bottle blanket and heater if you want to spray in sub-90* weather.

thanks that clears up most of my questions, so can anyone answer me about the wet kit, I really don't want to start a war, everyone has their favorites, but which would be the best for my application?

also I can get a purge kit for a wet or dry right?

also I know you will have three main switches, one for purge, one to arm the system, and one for nitrous does the nitrous switch simply let the nitrous flow through the lines or................?

I would suggest a wet kit. If "shops" break parts by "throwing on a kit" it's usually tuner error/stupidity. What forum said it was bad? (purely curious).

I ONLY run wet kit's,UNLESS you have DFI/Motec/FAST etc,i dont trust the stock injectors to add fuel for a dry kit.

Yes you can use a purge either way.

You will have a bottle heater switch,a master arming switch (which 'arms' the system and makes the full throttle switch ready to let the nitrous flow). a 3rd switch is used for a remote bottle opener, and you will have a button for the purge.

So, I should be ok w/ a wet kit, since i only want to run a 75 shot, right?

you will be fine with a wet kit and a 75 shot. I have found most info on LS1.com needs to be taken with a grain of salt, doesnt seem to be many knowledgable guys there anymore.

thanks, that is the reason I posted here, I want to find that thread so you can read it, apparently, this "wet kit info" came from the most respected guy on the N2O forum. Everybody says what they are running is the best so.......................

Wet is the way to go. Let the stock stuff do it's job, and you add the fuel for the n2o you are putting in. I ran up to 180RWHP gain on my stock LT1 with a NX wet kit.
