Anyone snap a clutch fork in half??

I am just wondering if this is a common thing or should I be looking for something wrong in my tranny??

Someone else was complaining of that the other day. His was the first that I had read about. Now you? :confused:

Something not installed correctly? Was the pedal hard to push in or anything before it happened? I've never heard of it before.

I didnt snap mine in half but it had to be cut out with a torch lol. My car was making this horrible grinding sound whenever id go to take off unless id just launch it and then my clutch finally went out and replaced it with a centerforce dual friction. anybody have one of these? how long do they last? any ideas?

Well, i got the car with 46k on it and ran it to 68k and everything felt the same til i just got in the car, pressed the pedal and :(

Do you know for certain that the fork broke in half? I had the fork pivot stud snap. I believe this was caused by the bolt backing out over time after I had removed/replaced it during my McLeod ST install. You want to loctite that bolt in place :alert:

Well, at first I thought my clutch fingers were worn or something was not connected and I pumped the **** out of the M/S. Well, that exploded the salve and when I crawled under there, I could take the half of the clutch fork out. You HAVE to take the WHOLE tranny out to replace it (how thoughtful of them) and when I did, it all looked fine. Since I was there, I just replaced the clutch (with a LT4 setup from Autozone), clutch fork, slave cylinder and away we went.

Funny thing was that I had the flywheel turned and it stopped my 70mph vibration I used to have, but, then I sold it at 69k
