96 Z28 Gas Mileage.

What is the average mileage for a 96 Z28? Looking at purchasing one but unsure of how much I will be spending on gas.

Thanks.

15-19mpg in the city, maybe? 25mpg or better on the highway?
If gas is a concern, you should not be looking at a V8 powered vehicle.

My 97 is very reasonable.
I get close to the milage posted above - only a little better on the highway - closer to 30.....
I would suggest getting yourself a big helping of V8 power for weekend fun with a side helping of 4banger for your daily driving.

my husbands 95 z gets 25MPG when not dragracing then it drops down to about 22MPG when racing.

If you are looking for something sporting but cheap on gas this is the way to go.

I was thinking more along the lines of something with a lot less HP (and turbo lag ) like a small honda or VW.........
Possibly something diesel.......
