DW96Z 08-24-2002, 09:03 PM I RECENTLY GOT THE GAS CAP ON CROOKED AND LOST ABOUT 1/4 TANK OF GAS DOWN THE SIDE OF MY ARTIC WHITE Z. I HAVE TRIED SOME FINE GRIT COMPOUND AND IT MADE ONE HELL OF AN APPROVEMENT, BUT YOU CAN STILL SEE A SLIGHT TINT OF YELLOW. IT IS DRIVING ME CRAZY. PLEASE HELP!
97BlackT\A 08-26-2002, 02:59 PM Bummer! I've never had that trouble before, so I don't know what to suggest but what you are already doing.
I hope it all comes out!
Jeff

I had gas spill out of my tank before, and I used the rubbing compound. It made an improvment, but didn't get it all off. So I kept using it. I did it 2 more times (3 total) before it was back to normal.
Maybe you should use bug and tar remover? A little rubbing alcohol?

I'm not a salesman, I'm a machinist. Typing is not my cup of tea. I don't know to many machinist that are hip on their internet courtesy. Thanks for the advice and I will try to put it to good use.
I removed yellow stains from my friend's white truck with a buffer and regular wax.
