Clunka-Chunka Tranny Again!!

Like about everyone else here, my tranny finally did the inevitable...it wenta clunka when tranny shifts at speed with a load (four people in car). Otherwise just fine. I gather its another tranny mount gone belly up.

Soooooo.....I crawl under the pig and see .............. nothing wrong:confused:. The Tranny Mounts look fine. No dangling bolts or ripped rubber. Is it typical that the Mounts may look fine, but in reality are broken (i.e. I pull the babies and they fall out, etc.)? Ergo, replace away newbie boy ?

Inspect first, replace if necessary. Put a floor jack under the tailshaft and pump it up some (a couple of inches). The rubber doesn't always rip in half- sometimes it just unbonds from the bottom metal plate and you won't see it until you push up on it- then it'll come apart like a sandwich, but look totally normal with the weight of the tranny on it.
