Imperial Hand Glaze?

Hi, A buddy of mine suggested and even gave me a full bottle of this stuff. He said to try it in this order

1. Dawn wash
2. Clay Bar
3. Imperial
4. Meguires Gold Class

Anyone have any experience with this product?

Here's my take on the IHG, it's way more trouble than it's worth. Glazes are usually quite difficult to buff to a uniform gloss and only provude very very short term gloss. The IHG is nothing more than mineral oils and water that will wash off with the first rain or car wash. Get this, the IHG is 60 to 80% water! The rest being mineral oils, naphthas, and heavy solvents. In my experience with such glazes, they are way more effort than the results and durability you get out of them. They do nothing for swirl removal or filling either, since they wash off immediately. IMO, they are a waste of time...the minute improvement in gloss isn't worth the time and effort, considering its very short term nature. I'd go straight to the Gold Class if it were me. But, Gold Class itself has very poor durability. You may wish to check out some better local waxes like Mother's, Liquid Glass, Eagle 1, or a more durable Meguiar's product like #26 or Medallion.

Thanks for the info Mike. I appreciate the recommendations on the other waxes, but I already have the Gold Class and I am not going to buy any more waxes, next time I'm going with Zaino http://web.camaross.com/bb/smile.gif

IHG is very popular with lower quality body shops. Rather than take the time to do final finishing steps after buffing, they'll smear that stuff on shortly before the customer comes to hide swirls and increase gloss. I think it's those guys alone that keep that product in production. The stuff is a waste of $$ and time.You could spray Armor All on the paint for the same effect. Probably just as good for it.

Meguiars #7 is used for the same purpose sometimes.
