Try some white vinegar rubbed on and off with a cotton cloth. If that does not work they are pretty tough and you will need a glass polishing compound, Zaino Z-12 Glass Polish will remove any water spot from any window.

I have this too.....especially on the windshield. I have some lettering on the top of the windshield in silver and it shows them too. Would vinegar work on these also?

The vinegar will probably work on the silver lettering but check it on a small spot before doing the whole thing. Vinegar is a weak acid. The silver lettering is probably made with aluminum, and aluminum is easily corroded so there's a possibility that the vinegar may leave more spots on the lettering, or, worst case, dissolve a tiny bit of aluminum.

Zaino Z12 is all it takes...makes quick work of any spotting, staining, and filth, as well as fine scratches. Maintain the surface afterwards with regular cleanings with a good glass cleaner and/or car shampoo while washing and it will always look crystal clear.
