Need help with aluminum...

I was in a big time wreck with my SS in December. Everything is back together and the car feels, looks, and runs great.

One problem though. The radiator was smashed in the accident and sprayed fluid all over the enginer compartment. All of the bright aluminum pieces look horrible. They have nearly white stains all over them.

The insurance company would not pay for appearance issues for items under the hood.

Any suggestions for cleaning or polishing the aluminum?

Try scotchbrite pads. You can get different grit scotchbrite pads at Home Depot. I'd start with green if the pitting is deep, then progress to finer. Then finish off with your favorite aluminum polish. When you're done it will look BETTER than factory. http://web.camaross.com/bb/smile.gif

Try the pads and then follow up w/some Mother's polish in the little red can.
