Has anyone recieved a speeding ticket in Doraville, GA?

I was coming home from Augusta to Roswell, and on 285, right at 141, I got lazered at 80 in a 55. It was on a Saturday at around 7:30 a few weeks ago, with little traffic. Now, I pulled over right away, hell, I saw the lights on the side of the road and was pulling over before he got to me. I wasn't blowing by anyone by any means, maybe 5 mph faster, nothing obscene. I have no problem with getting the ticket, I know that I deserve it, but what is surprising is the fine. $420.00!
Ouch! I have only recieved one speeding ticket before, 11 years ago in Indiana I went 82 mph in a 65 (in a 89 Nissan Sentra, they can go that fast!!!), and the fine was $105. I've asked around and of everyone I've asked, no one has ever gotten a fine of more than $200.00 for speeding. Anyone know if Doraville, Ga. has normally exceptionally high fines, or did I find the flared end of the shaft?

Keep in mind that I know that I deserve the ticket and wont fight it, but man, whew, that is a heafty fine.
Thanks

My wife got a ticket in Clayton Co. for 82 in a 55. She was REQUIRED to go to court since it was 25+ over the limit. The fine endep up being $250.

GA officers get kinda upset at anyhing 25+ MPH over the speedlimit. Just go to court and I'm sure it will be reduced even if you plead guilty.

nope, not there but Henry Co. got me...those dirty bastards...long story. Anyway, with a pretty clean record, I would just go to court and see if you can get it reduced. That's what I did and instead of a $260, I paid $60

I got stopped once racing a rustang and a 300ZX the radar said 135 in a 55 on I 285. Won't say where or when to protect the officer but he was cool, a gearhead also, gave me 68 in a 55.
Lucky me huh.

That is a ridicolous fine!!!

20 over in clayton county, cop told me the court date was one month away, turned out to be 1 week away. Didn't looka t ticket, missed court date, didn't know til a month later. ticket and late fee - $180

36 over on I75 - $200 (I also lost my license)

Sadly enough, several of my friends have been screwed with the ol' say a different month but the same day routine. Including my dad. Georgia sucks.
