I can get what appears to be dried wax off my car, I have tried wax remover, and lots of elbow grease. I am ready to give up and take it to a professional. Any recomendations before I throw in the towel? This wax is stubborn!

Get the wax off of what part of the car, moulding? paint? plastic? what?

Try rubbing alcohol or a mild polishing compound like 3M Swirl Mark Remover part number 39009

Tried alcohol and 3M wax remover, but I didn't try the swirl remover. Thanks for the tips anyways. Peace.

Had the same problem. Use normal Dawn Dish detergent. Before EVERY wax you should use this also, why, to remove the old wax and any hard grime. Mix the Dawn up with water real nice and then take a rag and start scrubbing. I had the same problem first time I used an electronic buffer. Went over the entire car in Dawn it was back to normal..then waxed a second time (hadn't been waxed in 2 years) and it looks great today. Let me know how good that works for you
