Going to Dyno: Is There a Standard Process?

Hello All,

I'll be taking my car to get tuned on Saturday. I'd like to know if
there is a standard process of adjustment.

My first run will be a baseline. I would like to tweak timing and
jetting as well as try a stub stack.

My question is, which should I adjust first - timing, or jetting?

Will it matter which is done first...will timing affect air/fuel
ratio tweaks or vice/versa?

Thanks.

Start with conservative timing and make it rich. Then get the AF in the ballpark but on the rich side and creep up on the timing making AF adjustments as needed. As the timing approaches optimum you will see it getting a bit leaner (as the fuel is burned more efficiently).

All easier with EFI!

This is more appropriate material for Classic Tech moving, thanks.
