I did the fronts on my 3rd gen with no problem. I tried to do the fronts on my LS1 earlier in the year and screwed it up. I took it to a garage to get it done right. On your LT1, are the shocks inside the spring? If so, and you don't like being pissed off, take it to a garage. If the front suspension is like my old 3rd gen, do it yourself. It's not too bad. RobK 06-09-2003, 09:22 PM Rears aren't too bad, unless you have a convertible :) Not nearly as bad as the front, however. Perceived difficulty depends upon your patience, the quality of the spring compressor you are using, & if you have airtools. I won't be doing this again without air tools :) The hardest part for me was definiately compressing the spring compressor with hand tools. Next to that was trying to undo the top nut--thank god for my sawzall to take car of that rusted nut! :) BTW, if you are going to do this yourself, don't forget to put a blob of greese at the top of the new one.
