It's not as big news as a new Mustang photo, but hey, it's a "future vehicle".

Droptop PT Cruiser spy picture.guionM 06-09-2003, 11:02 AM It's not as big news as a new Mustang photo, but hey, it's a "future vehicle". http://info.detnews.com/autosinsider/sneakpeek/index.cfm Darth Xed 06-09-2003, 11:05 AM Originally posted by guionM It's not as big news as a new Mustang photo, but hey, it's a "future vehicle". http://info.detnews.com/autosinsider/sneakpeek/index.cfm  When I heard they were making a drop-top version of the PT... I just could not visualize a 'smooth' way to do it... I just couldn't picture a decent looking roof line. From that pic... I think I was right. :yuck: centric 06-09-2003, 11:17 AM Anyone notice that's a two-door? centric 06-09-2003, 11:25 AM Anyone notice that's a two-door? Z28Wilson 06-09-2003, 12:33 PM The way the rear just abruptly ends and the top begins....it will make it look like a bathtub with the top down. Darth Xed 06-09-2003, 12:38 PM Originally posted by Z28Wilson The way the rear just abruptly ends and the top begins....it will make it look like a bathtub with the top down.    Kind of like the Munster-Mobile!! :D R377 06-09-2003, 04:45 PM That's sure awkward looking. Similar to the Golf convertible, it's tough to make a decent looking fanny. USHotRod 06-09-2003, 05:51 PM AAhhh!!!!:yuck: speedingpenguin 06-09-2003, 05:52 PM they need to shorten it a little bit.....the sides and rear are way too high up....time to photoshop what it SHOULD look like :-) speedingpenguin 06-09-2003, 05:59 PM http://www.geocities.com/speedingpenguin/ptcruser.jpg its a rough chop, but if it looked more like that i think it would look alot better....  jg95z28 06-09-2003, 06:22 PM Its still a PT Cruiser. :p Maybe the turbo version will be better, but a friend of mine rented one while we were in Maui and I got a chance to drive it.... ... I likened the experience to driving a Jeep mail truck or a golf cart. Yeah the interior looks cool, but its small and cramped and the performance is borderline rediculous. I think I'd rather drive a Neon. ;) Chuck! 06-09-2003, 07:00 PM PT SSR? StreamlineZ28 06-09-2003, 09:09 PM when i saw it at the auto show with the roof down i thought it loked pretty cool but with the top up that just looks:yuck: SFireGT98 06-10-2003, 01:23 AM The PT Cruiser never looked right from the rear quarters back but that convertable with the top up from the backside, yek :barf: AnthonyHSV 06-10-2003, 01:52 AM Another MOD to a "Retro" car.... It screams that retro gets stale very quickly...that and yanks seem to not like roofs on there cars :) 91_305_TPI 06-10-2003, 08:33 AM Looks photoshopped to me lol guionM 06-10-2003, 04:16 PM Originally posted by jg95z28 Its still a PT Cruiser. :p Maybe the turbo version will be better, but a friend of mine rented one while we were in Maui and I got a chance to drive it.... ... I think I'd rather drive a Neon. ;) I rented one when I went to my family reunion last year. It's just a small minivan, that's all. I didn't think it was cramped, and for the purpose it supposed to serve (a minivan that doesn't look like one) it does it OK. Just avoid reading too much into the PT Cruiser, and it comes off pretty well. 2K1SunsetSS 06-10-2003, 04:43 PM It looks very odd, just like anything from DC. | ||
