01BLKZ06 06-08-2003, 01:21 PM Hello everyone. I was just wondering how many people are planing on going to this event?
Also, when i was reading the pre-registration info, it says that non F-body vehicles are allowed to participate. Well, i went to Stantons website, and it said Camaros and Firebirds only.
Can someone explain to me if non F-bodies are allowed to attend this event?
I'm pretty sure that non-f-body cars are allowed to participate.
I'll be their no matter what for both days, hopefully in my RS. I WILL NOT be racing it, since I still have a 10 bolt in back, no subframe connectors, no rollcage, no helmet, no nothing. But just driving it out there and showing it off will be enough for me. If I get it done ever.
Chris Ja 06-08-2003, 02:13 PM I am planning on going. If the IROC is done I will race if not I will go anyway health permitting. beside I have to check out Dukes new set up and see how much it is going to cost me to keep up.;)
ChrisFrez 06-08-2003, 02:19 PM It's the CamaroZ28.Com national event. Most people who participate on this site own and Camaro or Firebird - however, if you are an active member but don't own a Camaro or Firebird you may still register with a different car and come on out.

wonder why it says camros and firebirds ONLY on Stantons website:confused:
91Bird305 06-08-2003, 02:34 PM Thats stuipd. Why limit it to just to types of cars. I liked the all GM events.

You guys, Stanton isn't making the rules. Frezza just told you what the rules are. I am pretty confident he knows what he's talking about, not like that Jason guy:D
streetbad 06-08-2003, 09:21 PM going
JasonD 06-08-2003, 11:12 PM For those who missed it earlier in this thread, the stanton web site is not correct.
OUR event web site at
http://www.camaroz28.com/nationals
IS correct and is the OFFICIAL site for event information.
This event is for the members of this site, and not all members drive a Camaro or a Firebird. Therefore, ALL cars are invited.
I don't want there to be any misconceptions about this so feel free to correct anyone saying otherwise.
I will try to call the track and see if I can get that changed to avoid further confusion.

That is what Stantons incorrect website says. The correct info is " Any members with more than 8000 posts does nothing except talk smack on the internet all day. Therefore they will be berated, humiliated, beaten, chained to the back of the fastest car and drug down the 1/4 mile."

01BLKZ06 06-09-2003, 04:04 PM Thanks for clearing that up jason
JasonD 06-09-2003, 04:11 PM BTW, you guys who have tons of crap that you need to sell, we will have a swap meet area. E-mail me for more details.
Speaking of details...
Hotel info has been put up. There will be TONS more people attending this year, and one hotel cannot hold all of them so on the event web site there is a list of all available hotels in the area. I am trying to work on a group rate for the Amerihost, but me and the manager are playing phone tag.
Firebird355 06-10-2003, 01:15 AM i plan to go, hopefully with my car, still have a few things to do
derty 06-10-2003, 01:17 AM Just registered, looking forward to it!!!

Yeah, I'm kind of waiting on that. Anything we can do to pester the manager into talking to you?

I don't see how that will do any good. It is not as if he is ignoring me purposely. We are trying to get in touch with each other, but the timing is bad. More people calling and bugging him won't help.
A group rate may not even be possible. It is sometimes hard to get a group rate on a hotel for something like this becuase the first thing the hotel managers want to know is which night the group rate will be for. My answer is always "I don't know, some come in and stay the night before and some show up the day of the event and stay that night" which gives the group rate a two night window and they do not liek to do that. With this being a 2 day event, it spreads it out over 3 possible nights.
For all we know the hotel is already booked and everyone will have to pick a hotel somewhere else, for example, in Mt. Pleasant which is the same distance from the track but has a much wider selection.
Relax. We are doing the best we can. I surely hope attending the event doesn't hinge on being able to save a few dollars on a hotel room.
CPFarhood 06-10-2003, 11:22 AM My parents have a place about 30 mins from stanton and i'm going to talk to them about having a little camp-out possibly. We own like 6 something acres so there'd be plenty of space, i'll keep you posted on what they have to say.
P.S. No money for hotel=More money for beer.
PurpleHaze95 06-10-2003, 11:24 AM I mostly meant, is there anything anyone can do to help you out... because I know it's a lot of work...
taner 06-10-2003, 06:49 PM c u there!!! room is booked!
I'm gonna book my room tomorrow. I'm gonna head up on Friday, and stay the whole weekend and come home Sunday. I'm bringing the RS.
PhantomTA 06-10-2003, 08:23 PM who is staying where?
ws6transam 06-10-2003, 10:30 PM Hi All,
I just registered, and it looks like I'll be bringing both the Trans Am as well as my tent camper, once I find someone to tow it. The T/A probably has a big enough towing capacity but doesn't have a hitch ;)
derty 06-11-2003, 12:45 AM Jason, Can you see if the Ledford's will let us camp outside the gates? I'm staying for the STS that Saturday night and wouldn't mind just roughin it in a tent outside. Guaranteed first in line privledges on Sunday too!

If it were just me I very well might camp at the state park. But Pete is coming with me and I'm sure he'll have none of that, so we'll probably stay at the AmeriHost. We liked it last year.
I'm kind of stalling to see if Jason can come up with a group rate, but we'll see what happens. I guess I could always register for a room now and then if he gets a group rate later I'll call and ask to have my rate reduced.
KGRESOCK 06-11-2003, 02:01 PM I'm there.......I beleive the Amerihost offer's a AAA member
