What's best for preventing scratches during drying:

1. Genuine chamois?

2. Fake chamois? (I saw one which is from the same manufacturer of the genuine chamois but for 1/4 the cost and claims not to scratch)

3. 100% cotton towel?

4. One of those "rubber California" squeegees? (or whatever they're called)

The absorber! Works great and if you ring it out often you won't have any water at all left on the car.

What's "the absorber"?

Also, I'm mostly interested in minimizing paint scratches..far more important than getting every drop of water.

 

I use an electric leaf blower to blow the water off, then a 100% cotton towel (bought from KevinSS) to complete the drying. I also use Gerber flat baby diapers.

Believe it or not, you can actually get the car 80% free of water with the water hose itself. After washing take off the nozzel and let a steady stream of water flow across each panel at a very low angle. Most of the water will literally sheet of leaving only a few spots on each panel to clean up.

I use the Absorber and a Water Blade also as needed. All are perfectly safe IMHO, or I wouldn't use them.

I use a California Water Blade and some 100% Cotton Towels,aided by a little compressed air to blow out the cracks!

I use the water blade, seems to work really well. Anything else that is left I just used a cotton towel.
