If you use a claybar on your car do you also have to do a dawn wash or does the claying make this unnecesary?

Yes, wash with Dawn first, then use the clay.

Question

What does Dawn do? I thought washing with a dishwashing detergent dries the paint out.

Also, is the Zaino wash really better than the other car wash cleaners (eg. Turtle Wax 'Zip Wax' & Armor All)?

Dawn helps remove all the wax and impurities. Claybar removes all the finite dust. Great stuff!!!

As stated, DAWN is only required when beginning a new wax system. All it does is strip all the old wax buildup off your car so Zaino will bond properly. DAWN should only be used to strip wax or oils, never as a regular car wash solution.

And, yes Zaino's Z7 wash is FAR superior to those bargain basement brands. It works very well with the Zaino system and is great at cleaning the paint without harming your Zaino layers or scratching. Even if I ran out of Z7, you'd never catch me washing with TW Zip wash or ArmorAll wash.

Dawn is only used once prior to your first Zaino job, the Z-7 Zaino wash contains the Z-2 so it is an important part of the system.
