Which Plug Wires Will Fit Stock Looms?

I Just changed out plugs, and was wondering how big diameter of plug wires I can go with and still use stock looms. I was considering Accel Extreme 9000 wires (8mm).

Also, any opinions on what the "best" wires are would be appreciated.

Thanks,

MarkC

You really won't win the "best wires" arguement here. One guy complains about one brand, but another guy never had problems with that brand...

8mm is the biggest you can go with the stock looms.

I have had good luck with the Taylor Spiro Pro's. I've had them on my car for almost 3 years now with no problems.

I wouldnt use the stock wire looms at all, i dont even with stock wires, they hold the wires far too close to heat sources. Especially with a thicker wire. I got sick of burnt wires, i use cable ties, no its no all that pretty, but it keeps the wires from getting burnt up.

I was extra careful, spent extra time on it and managed to get all the wires back in the stock looms without breaking ONE plastic one.

Just hope they dont fail or come loose while driving, than all you work goes up in smoke with a burnt wire. Just my experiance.

I have Accel 9000 and using stock looms. No problems at all and they have been there for four years. Considering to swap them out for new set of 9000's soon.

The Magnecor 8.5mm fit the looms very well. Plus the cables are very flexible/pliable that enables easier installation.

Taylor wires are the best quality in MY opinion. On the passenger side I run the wires between the acc. bracket and the block rather than behind the power steering pump pulley and back around over the A/C compressor. Then you don;t have to worry about the wires hitting the PS pulley and fiddle with that crazy thing GM called a loom lol. Kidna hard to get the wires in and get it snapped etc...
