Wheel Spacers

Does anyone know what the maximum thickness is for a wheel spacer using the stock studs?

I wouldn't go much more than 1/4"...... ARP has really nice studs for our cars as another option. About $15 a pack.....

Thanks Sam! I wanted to space out the 50mm ZR-1 wheel just a little bit. If I use the other studs, can I still use my existing lugs and locking lugs? Just waiting on the Ground Control stuff to arrive!!!

yeah the threading is the same, although it goes right to the end of the lug, unlike the stock ones that stop the threading ~1/2" short of the end.

The ARP lugs, in addition to being stronger, and having more thread on them, are about 1/2" longer than stock. as a result, closed-end lug nuts (like your typical chrome acorns from Gorilla or McGard) will not fit. I have the spline-drive McGard lugs and just test-fit them on the ARP studs... I need to hack off about 1/2" from each. The advantage over stock will still be the strength of the lug and the threading all the way to the end.

If you plan on using a 1/2" spacer, the ARP lugs are sweet. Of course if you needed that much, you could have just bought the true ZR1 wheels and had a 36mm offset.

The only way I'd go with ARP lugs now is if I cut them back to stock length, or if I go to open-ended lug nuts.


hmmm... I wonder if McGard makes a longer-than-normal closed-end nut?
