Looking for auto accesory place on Westside

I am looking for a good place that does window tinting and can install the body color bug deflector and ventshields for my Yukon. Preferably in K-zoo or B.C. but if there is a really good place in G.R. that would be fine also.

If you dont find one in BC or Kzoo, there is a really good place in GR. The Tint Factory at the corner of Buchanan and 36th Street by the GM plant. Got my car done with premium metallic tint, one piece back window and a lifetime warranty against bubbles, fading, peeling or rips for $200.

For the bug-guards and such the AutoBarn is right around the corner on Division just north of 28th street.

You do know about Portage cops and tinted windows, right?

I just want to get the front windows of the Yukon tinted the same as the rest of them.

Yeah, that's exactly what they hate. Ever see those guys with their front windows tinted except for like a 6" horizontal strip? I think they do that because it's the limit of the law. The trouble is that Portage cops don't really have enough to do, so they drive around looking for people to hassle for stupid small stuff. :rolleyes: (But maybe I'm just jaded.)

Maybe Portage should cut back on the number of officers that way their a little busier.

I guess I will have to make a decision on if I want to deal with them or not. The 4" strip across the top of the window looks stupid.

I'll 2nd the Tint Factory. I've had a couple of vehicles tinted there. They do nice work.

Hitches by George on Eastern sells and installs the bug guards and other stuff.

Let me know if you find anything good chad. I'd like to get the hatch window in my Z tinted. The gray carpet looks baby blue back there now from the sun fade (car came from california).

i will 3rd the tint factory......they do great work. i got the rear hatch and both side windows on the Z (no crease either) for $200 and it looks awesome.

also autobarn is pricey but auto masters has about everything and they are at division and 56th so you have alot to choose from in the area.

Chad, there is a place right out by you on Dickman rd. I just called them to see what prices are. They said they would do the hatch and side windows on my car for $160. That includes one piece hatch tint, and it is fully guranteed against cracks, bubbles, peeling, all that stuff for one year and it is put in writing. Says it takes about 2 hours to do.

Well Mike, I had them tint the front doors in the Yukon with 35% tint and it looks good. Not quite as dark as the back doors but it still looks good anyway. I would recommend them, but be aware that they don't take credit cards.

That's why when I ever get pulled over I always put the windows down first so that they can see in the mirrors. And besides with the moonroof shade open it is light enough to see in during the day.

That has always pissed me off that they use that as a reason to make tint illegal. I can spraypaint my back windows black, and thats ok, but the side windows are a no no??? Hate to tell you this, but if I was going to shoot someone from my car, by the time they got to my front doors, it would be a little late for them if they couldn't see what I was doing as they approached my car from behind.
