Hadn't sprayed it before so we didn't know how much we wanted to use. Definitely see it coming :D Heres a couple more pics: http://www.cofba.org/users/zeppelin/LarrysFormula/pinstripe3.jpg http://www.cofba.org/users/zeppelin/LarrysFormula/pinstripe1.jpg Larry:cool: transam8 06-02-2003, 09:26 PM Nice ride!!! -Mike 94WhiteZ28 06-03-2003, 12:38 AM Originally posted by lfish Ya, kinda overdid it with the flake. I think it may be a little too "sparkly" but it sure does make that thing stand out! :D . Nice ride! I'd love to see it in person! I really like the front GFX! Definitely see it coming :D No, no, I didn't mean to imply that I thought you over did it... it is just more metallic than I am used to seeing. However, I LIKE it. That color combo works well and IMO the extra flake doesn't look gaudy at all... looks good! WheelmanZ28 06-03-2003, 01:01 AM  AAAAAAHHHH MY RETINAS! hehehe jk ;) Looks really awesome with that hood. Thanks Brent. :D Larry:cool: meangreen94z 06-03-2003, 06:35 AM Defiantly looks awesome. Did you guys mask the flames off yourself? If so, how hard was it because I will be doing it soon on a old tractor trailer. Also, is that just a green flake? What else mixes into the paint to spray flake? Thanks for the help and that looks awesome. ProjectRS 06-03-2003, 10:16 AM I sware that is the sweetest LT1 TAEVER! Good Job man, please post more all around pics! aircop40 06-03-2003, 10:34 AM SWEET!!!! i think it looks great! nice job with it, and i like the whole color combo. awesome car man :D lfish 06-03-2003, 05:35 PM Thanks for all the comments. Ya, we masked it off ourselves. Drew it first in soapstone(many versions) until we were happy with all the licks, then taped it out in pinstripe tape, then copied it to the other side of the car, then taped it off. BIG Thanks to Dave Ostheimer in Sandusky, OH for the flames. He did the flame design and sprayed the color. I did as much grunt work as I could, taping, removing trim, etc., and picked out the color combo and flake, but he gets the credit for laying it on. The color is the tips done in a lighter green metallic base coat, then the main candy color combo shot right over the black. Tons of green micro metal flake added to the candy. On a cloudy day it is very ghosty looking flames. In the sun, it is pretty bright. BTW, the car is also a 396 stroker.:D Larry:cool: StreamlineZ28 06-03-2003, 05:40 PM looks pretty good but what is that other design on the hood right at the front of the scoop lfish 06-03-2003, 05:44 PM Its a free hand pinstripe design. Kinda looks like a cross from a distance. He started out with a small flaming heart in the middle and then just went on from there in a couple colors. Troll  superal 06-03-2003, 11:14 PM I must say I don't like it. The colors dont go together well in my opinion. The way sparkly nose threw me for a whirl and its way overdone. I like a bit more subtle flames, not something like that. lfish 06-04-2003, 12:41 PM Originally posted by Sssmokin2 sorry if it wasn't a pat on the back like everyone else does on here "ohh that looks awesome,,,oh your car is so hot" you people make me sick with your buddy buddy **** ,,,,GET OVER IT ps- i think macco could have done better custom work for you bye now:D  :) No, not it at all. You either like flames, or you don't. You either like metalflake, or you don't. You either like black and green together, or ya don't. I'd be pretty arrogant to think everyone was going to dig how the car came out. BUT....... there's something to be said for the phrase "Its not what you say, it's how you say it". Look at the post above. Dude didn't care for the way it came out. Posted his opinion in a courteous, respectful manner. Nobody on this board minds an opinion like his. Not at all the ***hole you sounded like in both posts. And BTW, macco is spelled with a capital M (Note to self and all parents:"Please........... keep your kids in school"). Larry Bastardcat 06-04-2003, 03:11 PM (Note to self and all parents:"Please........... keep your kids in school"). Well put. I think your car is very original, good work. FLIPPINZ28 06-04-2003, 05:28 PM car turned out very good love the flake i am doing black with ice blue flames an d metallic flake in the flames very nice . opinions are like ***holes everybody has one but others stink worse than others if everybodys car was the same than nobody would be different and that would suck to see the same f-bod running around oh wait that one has a different guy driving it. yeah that would suck good job on creativity and that is really nice Kenny chevroletfreak 06-04-2003, 05:59 PM It looks like you put a lot of work into it. One question though....What is soapstone? WheelmanZ28 06-04-2003, 06:57 PM Originally posted by Sssmokin2 actually i've been a member of this board for well over a year,,,i made a new name Oh...so ur a coward who makes a new sceen name just to flame someone? pretty darn cool and intelligent of u. Hopefully u won't be lasting too long here. lfish 06-04-2003, 07:37 PM Originally posted by chevroletfreak It looks like you put a lot of work into it. One question though....What is soapstone? It is used allot by welders and fabricators to mark steel when measuring it. It is a piece usually about 1/2" wide by about 6" long and about 1/8" thick. You shave it down to a kind of a point and use it like a pencil. Nice thing is that it rubs right off if you want to change it. Larry:cool: | ||
