Recalls

i will soon be purchasing an LS1 powered SS or a WS6
i will most likely be getting either a 1998-2000
just wondering if someone can tell me if any of these years had any major recalls and what was wrong with each year...

my buddy has a 1999 SS and just had the clutch master cylinder replaced under a recal or something and just wondering if there were alot of these recalls for any specific year!!

any help with be good for me

Naw, nothing major. What you have to understand is there are TSBs (tech service bulletins) and recalls. Completely different. Recalls are fixed for free by any GM dealiership, and are usually safety risks. For instance, I think there was a recall on the radiator cap on one of the years. TSBs are just like memos saying there is a possible issue with the car. For instance the master cylinder, which a lot of people do the drill mod to correct.

what about the oil pump failures?
is that just rumor or has GM admitted as to it being at fault...
i also hear that in 98 the rear ends tend to leak...
just wondering if anyone knows of any little problems found in any certain model year

You can get an actual copy of the Recall/TSB on some if not all. Just do a search for your car.
