Did you have to make any special bends in your dip stick tube for crank clearance issues?
The reason I ask is I can't get my dip stick out of my 396. I don't want to drop the pan if I don't have to.
Thanks Jeff

Sorry i should have provided more details. What i need to know is if the dip stick tube had to be bent inside the crank case to clear the larger crank.
This is just one of my Theories because it is so hard to get out. I will get mean with it and get it out but I will destroy it in the process and just replace it with a new one.
If a bend is needed i will have to drop the oil pan to duplicate the bend with the new dipstick tube.
Thanks

If you went with 4bolt splayed caps you might have to do a little bending, mine was hitting the side of one of the caps.

well, did you pull the pan to bend it when you installed it? :)
The right way is to cut it off so that it doesn't hit the main cap, but I guess its possible you could bend it once its installed..
