Lightweight racing seats??

I'm thinking about getting some lightweight seats for my car. I want to know which seats are the easiest to install. Basicly I don't want to deal with fabbing a custom bracket for the seat. Are there any seats comparable in price to the Summit seats that don't need a custom bracket? Thanks. ;)

I got corbeau CR1s .. they come with brakcets and are pretty nice .. but not exactly lightweight race seats !!!

just remember u have teo brace ANY aftermarket seat against ur cage .. either bolted, or welded .. or bracketed .. etc

IS that really a rule for cars 10.0 and slower??

I run at an NHRA track, and they have never complained about my Corbeau Targa RS seats (which have an adjustable recline) not being attached to my rollbar. Even if it is a rule, I still won't do it until someone says something, but I was just curious.

doesnt matter how fast u are .. u can be a 15 minute car ! it says it RIGHT in the NHRA book .. seen it with my own eyes !! and got bitched at by the track guys !!! they say its a stupid rule ... but its there nontheless

as soon as u have a roll cage .. and ANY aftermarket seat .. reclinable or not .. it HAS TO BE BRACED against the cage !

some tracks arent as bitchy . or many ur tech guys arent as competent !! either way its there as a rule !

im gonna have some removable braces made.. they dont have to be bolted to the seats .. as long as the seat is braced against something when u race.

Sideways, I'm not sure that's true. Here's what it says in the 2003 rulebook:

Except as noted in SFI specifications, seats must be bolted with four bolts (and nuts and washers) on the bottom and one bolt in the rear into the crossbar; all bolts must go into frame or crossbraces. Ball-lock pins for seat attachment prohibited in all classes.

well .. it comes down to how lenient ur local track is

my tech guys told me as long as its braced i'll be fine ! they told me i can make it removable

Derrick,No seat in the summit/jaz price range is a bolt in affair.

BUT,Corbeau does have bolt in brackets (technically they arent legal,as they are sliders with a single lock, not a double lock).
Now you might be able to mate those up with the Summit/Jaz race buckets and make it somewhat less painful.

biggest drawback is the sliders arent cheap (i know i have 2 sliders direct fit for our cars in the basement collecting dust, decided to not run corbeau's and sold them to a non fbody guy).

Lemme know if you are interested in trying something.
