Thanks fellas WILL LWillmann 05-29-2003, 11:04 PM You are correct, the installation is VERY straight forward. Unfortunately I don't have any pics for you. ibanez6rg 05-30-2003, 01:15 AM Install close to amp as possible. Use a different grounding place :) 97FormulaWS-6 05-30-2003, 08:53 AM Originally posted by ibanez6rg Install close to amp as possible. Use a different grounding place :) uhm... this can cause ground loops and induce noise. I have everything grounded to a single point and have no issues. Basically hook up the + from the battery to the + of the cap, - of the cap to ground, and the + of the cap to the amps. that's about it. but remember to charge the cap with the little bulb/resistor that came with it. ibanez6rg 05-30-2003, 03:16 PM Originally posted by 97FormulaWS-6 uhm... this can cause ground loops and induce noise. So I don't know. OutlawLS! 05-30-2003, 07:09 PM I had my grounded to the same ground in my old car and never had any issues. I would advise in being careful when connecting it.. they can be dangerous is not hooked up correctly. Not trying to scare you just letting ya know. robtombie 05-30-2003, 11:37 PM Ya they are pretty dangerous.....I was unhooking one once.....set it aside for a second....left the hex wrench in the postive screw the cap rolled and touched the negative sparks flew everywhere till it was discharged....the cool part was the wrench was melted to the screws.....as far as grounding I've always grounded it to the same point as the amp..... But as they said negative to ground.....amp wire coming from the battery hooked up to the positive ( + ) side in conjunction with the postive of the amp. I've also just ran one ground wire and just used the hooked the amp up to the negative of the cap just like the positive and I've never had any problems..... | ||
