Angry Tint glue removal?

I had to remove the tints on my side windows this past weekend. Taking the tint itself off was the easy part. How the hell do I get the glue off the window, it is some strong stuff

Dumb (edited for the website) cop where I go to school gave me a ticket. He has pulled me over multiple times for various bull$hit things. I say he is a dumb (edited for the website) not just because of that, but in this case, he was going the opposite way on a divided highway, saw my car, and turned around in the middle of traffic, and chased me down in the rain. All for the f--kin tint on my windows
I wasn't speeding, and I had my lights and wipers on (it was raining).
So I removed it, another cop at the precinct signed off on the "fix-it" part of the ticket. The second cop told me it was a "bull$hit ticket."
So, that is why I had to remove my tint.
What pisses me off is, I am a senior at my college, I am only going to be driving the car for about 2 more weeks, and then I would never be back in the area (with the car) again.
I've never had a problem (or even pulled over) where I am from back home. So I might just get them re-done.

**Edit** Sorry mods, didn't know the word I used was one of the "*****" words.

That sux you have to remove your tint. Around here noone cares how dark you tint. I've seen plenty of 5% tinted autos, so I suppose the cops don't care. You might try rubbing alcohol or WD-40 to remove the glue.

Thumbs up

Buy some razors at your local hardware store. With brand new razors you can clean all that glue crap off in a few minutes.

First of all get yourself a spray bottle and fill it up eith water. Then add a few drops(3-4)
of dishwashing liquid. Mix it up and spray the window. Next with brand new razor blades scrape the glue off. Keep the window moist and be careful not to cut yourself. I have seen one too many a nasty accident. The razor blades won't scratch your windows as long as you don't use one for all the windows. Use about two per window so as they don't become dull. As for the back, I don't think you have to take that one off. In case you ever have to remove the rear tint and you have defrosters. Well this is what you do. Get yourself some black trashbags. The bigger the better. Cut them open. Again spray water all over the inside of the window then stick the trash bags on the window from the inside ofcourse. Make sure the sun hits the window all the time. The sun will heat up the glue and loosen it up in about an hour. And you can safely remove the tint without any damage to the defrosters.

Thats about it.

Taking off tint sux. I had to do it on all the windows on my car. For the side windows, I used Windex and a couple of razors. That was the easy part. The back window with defrosters is the hard part. I used about 2 bottles of windex and a scouring pad. Worked great and didn't damage the defrosters.

I wish I would have known about the trash bag trick. Damn!

Well, Good luck!
