Low RPM part throttle timing adjustments for cammed cars?

What sort of timing changes are folks with head/cam cars making in the bottom RPM range? I'm trying to pick up the throttle response of my car in the 1400-2000 rpm range and have been experimenting with advancing the timing in the higher load ranges. It seems to be working (better power down low with no knock retard), but I'm not sure how much is too much or whether it's all in my head. Can anyone make suggestions?

Thanks.

Hi Rich,

I am with you. If I can idle at 22-24 degrees I see no need to have the timing off idle be any less then that
